Our Purpose
1. To provide compassionate, culturally responsive care to underserved communities specifically with a Pakistani background residing in the rural areas of Woodland, CA. Beginning with accessible health screenings and expanding into a trusted community clinic.
2. Involving undergraduate pre-health students, medical students, and volunteer physicians, and partnering with local organizations to address both immediate healthcare gaps and provide long-term preventive care guided by cultural humility, compassion, equity, community empowerment, education, trust, and respect for our community.
Our Mission
"Noor" is a word based in South Asia, Middle East, and various global languages meaning "light". It encompasses the uniting nature of medical care for all humans across the globe and highlights care as a source of hope for humanity. As with light readily available to us everyday, our team at Noor believes medical care should also be readily available in ways that is accessible, affordable, and culturally sensitive.
Noor Community Health is a student-led and community-rooted health initiative dedicated to increasing access to culturally responsive, preventative health education and medical screenings for underserved communities. Guided by values of compassion, service, and dignity; Noor seeks to empower individuals through education, early awareness, and connection to care, while cultivating socially conscious healthcare leaders.
Noor Community Health envisions a future in which all individuals regardless of background, language, or socioeconomic status are able to access respectful, culturally competent healthcare and the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
Our Guiding Principle
Noor Community Health exists to serve as a bridge between communities and care, education and action, students and service grounded in compassion, responsibility, and trust.
